PROTECTIVE MEASURES AGAINST THE NEW CORONAVIRUS

 

Considering the measures taken by the competent authorities at a national level in order to reduce the risk of spreading the infection caused by COVID -19 (Coronavirus), the Technical University of Civil Engineering of Bucharest temporarily suspends the face-to-face educational activities between 12 and 31 March 2020, with the possibility of extension.

The Board of Directors of UTCB has decided this on Wednesday, 11 March 2020, with the purpose to prevent the occurrence of disease cases among students and professors. The decision implies a temporary suspension of all face-to-face educational activities and the cancellation of the extracurricular educational activities that involve a high number of participants (such as open days, open weeks, exams, conferences, book launches, lectures, work-shops, sport competitions, shows etc.).

If the students want to avoid crowding the residence halls of UTCB, we recommend them to go to their homes during the suspension of courses, but not simultaneously, in order to avoid blocking road and rail transportation.

The UTCB canteen remains open in a catering regime.

The activities in the gym are cancelled during the above mentioned period, 12-31 March.

Educational activities of Thursday 12 March and Friday 13 March are suspended and they will be later recovered.

Starting from Monday, 16 March, educational activities are organised online and the activities that cannot be held online, through electronic platforms, will be recovered following a graph that will be established at a later date.

Consequently, professors, auxiliary and non-teaching staff will be present in the University throughout March.

The structures that ensure the administrative and research activities of UTCB continue their work according to a certain schedule. The employees kindly require the beneficiaries of these activities to use the online system as much as possible, in order to send their materials, documents or papers, thus reducing the face-to-face contact with the support staff.

For payment of dorm-room taxes and the realisation of some documents through bank transfer, the appropriate IBAN accounts will be made available on the web page of UTCB.
